Jefferson County, Kansas

Jefferson County is located in east central Kansas. It is named for Thomas Jefferson, third president of the United States.
The seat is Oskaloosa while the largest city is Valley Falls. It is located just outside of the Kansas City metro area.

The county borders Atchison, Leavenworth, Douglas, Shawnee and Jackson Counties.
Main highways through the county include US-24, US-59, K-4 and K-16.
